Alexander Iofin, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with decades of experience in psychiatry. He provides personalized psychiatric care for adults, with a particular focus on conditions such as adult ADHD, adult ADD, and anxiety disorders.
Do you treat adult ADHD and ADD?
Yes. Adult ADHD and ADD are among Dr. Iofin’s primary areas of focus. An evaluation may include a discussion of your symptoms, medical and behavioral health history, and how attention or concentration difficulties affect your work, relationships, responsibilities, and everyday life.

What should I expect as a new patient?
Your first step is to contact our office. During the initial phone call, our team will ask several standard questions to better understand your needs and determine whether our practice can provide the appropriate level of care.

Will I automatically be prescribed medication?
No. Medication is not automatically prescribed simply because you schedule a psychiatric appointment. Treatment recommendations are based on an evaluation of your symptoms, history, diagnosis, needs, and other relevant factors.
If medication is appropriate, Dr. Iofin will discuss the treatment plan and ongoing monitoring with you.
How long will I need psychiatric treatment or medication management?
The length of treatment varies from person to person. It can depend on your diagnosis, symptoms, response to treatment, treatment goals, and other individual factors.
Regular follow-up appointments allow Dr. Iofin to monitor your progress and make adjustments when appropriate.
What should I do if I am experiencing a mental health emergency?
Advance Psychiatric Care’s website and messaging systems are not monitored 24 hours a day and should not be used for emergencies.
